Meeting and Proposal
Meeting and Proposal :
"We met through mutual friends, he was the best friend of my best friend's older brother. A week after exchanging numbers, he suggested going water skiing. I said yes (a bit reluctantly because it really wasn't my thing). It was truly a struggle, I couldn't stay on the board, so after half an hour, I had enough and swam back to the pontoon to get out of the water. He was waiting for me, extended his hand, and in a very smooth motion, we kissed.
As for the proposal, he waited 6 years to do it. We were on vacation in San Francisco, we came back from a tiring day of exploring the city, and he suggested we could have a beach picnic with a view of the Pacific Ocean. I was really exhausted, so I told him I wasn't really up for it after the day we had. But he insisted that we at least go out for dinner. I ended up choosing a restaurant, and when he mentioned that I could maybe dress up a bit (for going out), I replied that he wasn't going to propose to me that evening (being a killjoy until the end)... And I was wrong, during dessert, on a rooftop terrace overlooking San Francisco, he made his proposal... And I said yes (of course, I regretted being a bit grumpy and not helping him with everything he suggested)."
Venue and Inspirations
"The symbolic ceremony and reception took place at Château Las Collas in Thuir. It's a charming venue amidst vineyards, with a view of Canigou and a beautiful tree outside where we held the ceremony."
Their wedding inspirations :
"As for the wedding inspiration, we wanted soft colors, in pastel tones. I spent a lot of time on Pinterest and fell in love with vases in turquoise/ Tiffany blue with powdery pink flowers as centerpieces. My florist was a great help and managed to create exactly what I was looking for. We then bought lanterns and decorations in our colors online and made the rest (including the heart-shaped stakes for the aisle at the symbolic ceremony)."
Their most memorable moment :
"What stood out to us at the wedding was the overall atmosphere. We gathered all the people we love, and they showed us that they loved us too through many surprises. Our parents had secretly contacted all the guests so that everyone would start singing 'Tout l'amour que j'ai pour toi' ('All the love I have for you') at the town hall (much to the mayor's dismay). It was magical. Our symbolic ceremony was the most powerful moment; my dad and his friend organized it, and it was just perfect!"
Attire and Shoes :
"For the attire, I hesitated for a long time but ended up choosing two dresses: a short one for the town hall and a long one for the symbolic ceremony. Guaranteed surprise effect!
Shoes :
As for the shoes, I didn't need to go for a custom creation. I was planning to, but your website's outlet had the pair of my dreams, these fully glittered pumps with a 12cm heel and in my size! I was a bit worried about the heel height at first, but with some practice, I had no issues, and they were really comfortable; I can only recommend them!"
Finally, her favorite vendors are :
- Nicolas Giganto, a photographer in Céret, who was constantly praised by our guests for his exceptional human touch, making people comfortable, and for his stunning photos.
- The florist who went the extra mile to find the colors we wanted is "Sisters Flowers" in Ille sur têt. She perfectly understood the vision of the couple and had great ideas.
- For the catering, we chose "La Deveze," a family-owned business that listened to the couple's needs and turned the wedding meal into a feast.
Cécile's advice :
"It's important to have a good support system and dare to delegate some tasks (even if it's tough and you want to control everything). Vendors are also crucial, so don't hesitate to research thoroughly before signing a contract and seek feedback from couples who have used these vendors."
