Marjorie
Discover Marjorie and Rémy's moving story, and guess what ? The mayor was her dad !! Her mom had also fallen in love with our shoes and created a lovely pair to match her dress! We wish them all the best.
Meeting and Proposal :
We met during a winter sports trip in January 2014. His proposal took place at our home, where we are homeowners. He organized my favorite aperitif with my favorite meal. Afterwards, we went to see a play called "L'amour c'est mieux à trois" ("Love is better with Three"). I love this play! When we returned home, he had bought my favorite dessert and asked me if I wanted to share the same name as our children and become his wife. Of course, I said yes !!!
Most Memorable Memory of Your Beautiful Day :
I really enjoyed seeing the people we love gathered together, happy to be present for us and for this event !
The Venue :
We got married at my parents' place. My father is the mayor, and he officiated our wedding!
Subsequently, we held the reception in the courtyard of our farm, all beautifully decorated and clean. There was a lot of emotion during the speech by my father/the village mayor; it was very touching. We got married on Saturday, October 5th, as both our parents got married on October 4th, 33 years ago. Interestingly, my in-laws and my parents do not know each other !
Inspirations :
Pinterest was my best friend ! I quickly had my ideas, and most importantly, I wanted to incorporate many symbols related to us both in our wedding: mountains for cufflinks and handkerchiefs linked to our meeting; wheat germs, vases filled with cereals related to my agricultural background; yellow and green for the groom's favorite colors and pink for me. As for blue, it was to unite us as we both love this color.
The Dress :
I highly recommend the boutique Les Mariées d'Orfeuil in Châlons-en-Champagne (51000). I knew I would find what I was looking for there! I had spotted a dress in a video that I loved, and in this boutique, I found the bottom part of a beautiful dress. I had a real crush, and the saleswoman created the top part of the dress for me !
Shoe Creation :
It was my cousin who recommended Dessine-moi un soulier to me because I couldn't find what I wanted and I absolutely wanted to see and try on the shoes. So, I went to the Parisian boutique with pleasure. I tried on the shoes, the team provided good advice, and the various customization options are just amazing. I received my shoes and wanted to modify a detail, and it was possible at no extra cost (just the return fees). When I received them for the second time, it was a joy to see and wear them. I didn't even need to break them in before the big day because they are comfortable even on the first wear!
My mom, who also created a pair of shoes and a matching clutch, was thrilled with her choice too!
Bride's Advice :
Our loved ones helped us a lot in every way. It's important to delegate to stay calm on the big day. You can't do everything... You also need to accept the small imperfections that no one notices except us. I realized that it's necessary to communicate our desires, intentions, and choices to our loved ones because multiple ideas can arise in different minds. My final advice would be to involve loved ones as much as possible because they only want to help. Therefore, you need to be organized and plan ahead to enjoy the process.
