The Encounter & the Proposal
He's an anesthesiologist, and I'm a pediatrician. We met in the delivery room during our internship in Touraine... He was already in a relationship, but for us, it was instantly clear. The need to constantly be together and the simplicity of our chemistry was just magical!
He proposed three years later at a beautiful hotel in the hills of Santa Teresa in Rio de Janeiro, quoting an excerpt as he always does! He had bought a temporary ring to avoid the risk of the real one being stolen, and it was just like him: rock 'n' roll and unique!
The most memorable moment:
I could tell you about the look on my dad’s face when he saw me arrive at the town hall, or the emotion in the air when I read the vows I had written for the man who was becoming my husband, or even the speeches, dances, and songs from our witnesses! They truly spoiled us! But in reality, what stood out the most was seeing all our guests and close friends having fun and telling us that everything was a reflection of us: colorful, warm, generous, and relaxed. In the end, everyone felt good, and for us, that meant success because we managed to convey exactly what we wanted!
The venue :
We got married in a beautiful stone building with exposed beams, part of a château on the outskirts of Bordeaux. We were surrounded by vineyards and greenery; everything was bohemian and romantic... We set up a space under the trees for our outdoor secular ceremony, with small white chairs adorned with colorful bouquets hanging from them. We used a large wooden barrel as a lectern for our officiants, with a stunning floral arrangement on top, along with string lights and bunting!
Everywhere else on the estate and in the reception hall, there was a warm, bohemian atmosphere. We crafted our decorations using wood, moss, and wine corks... and added a rock 'n' roll touch with a tattoo bar, tables named after rock bands, and an epic entrance into the reception with our witnesses to the song "Satisfaction" by The Rolling Stones, all wearing leather jackets, sunglasses, and holding plastic guitars!
Their inspiration :
I read a lot of blogs and searched Pinterest!
For the decorations, I bought from Hema, Savethedeco, and also Amazon, which was a treasure trove! I had personalized items made on Etsy, like tote bags for my witnesses or the guest book!
The dress:
For my dress, I had known for a long time that I wanted something bohemian with lace. So, I went to try on a few dresses in boutiques to figure out what suited me and what I liked, and then I had it made by a talented seamstress in Tours (Céline Haudebourg). You can trust her completely, and contrary to what one might think, a custom-made dress isn't more expensive than one bought in a store. Of course, I needed a colorful and rock 'n' roll touch in my outfit... Dessine-moi un soulier pumps were the obvious choice!
The creation of the shoes :
I created several designs on the website and ordered leather samples to get a better idea: smooth leather, suede, and glitter... All I had left to do was choose the color! So, I spent a lot of time looking at photos to see the true colors and asked the designers via email for their advice on which colors were lighter or darker.
For the heel height, I was torn between two options, but I was lucky to have two friends who ordered their wedding shoes from the site, so I was able to try them on and found that the 8cm heels were perfectly comfortable if you're used to wearing heels! They were perfect for the big day

Our bride's advices
I recommend staying true to your ideas: listen to advice, but it's YOUR wedding, and you and your husband make the final decisions! :)
Organization is key. Here are a few tips: I wrote down my ideas, made notes (contact details for vendors, witnesses, a six-month countdown plan, and a detailed schedule for the big day...), and created charts to help with vendor selection... Delegation is also important! It's crucial but not easy. As someone who’s used to controlling everything, I learned that you have to use everyone’s strengths: table decorations, outdoor accessories, services, handing out bubbles/petals for the town hall exit... You have to think of everything to make it an unforgettable day!
